Thoroughbred Gelding to Lease
Bright Bay
Birnham Wood (SAF 2000)
Rising 8 years old
16.2hh (approx)
Novice horse.
Potential for dressage and showing as he has the ability once schooled and muscled up to be a contender for Show Hunter classes. A showing rider confirmed that he is Hunter potential over the weekend 16/02/2008.
Has no jumping experience as yet.
Interested riders should have some experience. Birnham still has a very baby'ish attitude, despite his age and can be a bit bolshy. He's willing and forward going. Having ridden him this weekend 16/02/2008 it seems he's quieter these days - a lot more laid back about things.
Good movement at all three basic gaits. Still learning to control himself on the lunge at the canter. Was cantered under saddle and is much better and less 'tanky'. Is good with long rein work using legs and seat fairly responsive.
A somewhat experienced, patient rider who takes this horse and brings him along will definitely reap rewards. Has no vices (unless you consider a bit of attitude as a vice).
Affectionate and gentle on the ground. Requires consistency.
Full lease option only as he must have a dedicated rider whether to compete or not.
Lease with option to move him to a yard of choice is an option. He will, however, be looked in on from time to time. Ideally, we'd prefer to keep him at the stables though. Lessons with SANEF Level 1 Instructor at the yard are available.
He will not be sold.
Lease at current stables - R1400.00 per month (at last check - I will confirm that it is not R1500.00)

This is a nice looking boy with a lot of character if anyone is interested please don't overlook him because he's still 'novice' at 8.
