For Sale
Hi all
The following horses and box are for sale, I’m not going to beat around the bush and make it look like the
buy of a lifetime, etc, I’m not a trader. These are my babies, each one special to me and my family.
Unfortunately due to current circumstances I need to part with them. I won’t sell them to anyone mind
you, and I am not going to hide their mistakes. (R25 000,00 for the horse box)
1) French Legacy (Moose)
Thoroughbred
Sire: Pas De Quois
Dam: British Bronze
Age: 13
Height: 15.2HH
Moose is my baby, we have had him for six years and
there are few horses I have ridden that display the
elegance he has. He is an ex race horse from top lines.
This horse will go all the way in dressage and showing
with the right jockey. I currently ride him in an apple
snaffle, he is very responsive to your hands and leg. I am
not a competitive rider, so he has not been graded but he
is registered with the WPHS.
He is sensible enough to behave with a very novice rider,
but I think he would be better suited to someone with
developed hands as he has a very soft mouth. No
problems with boxing or farrier.
Vices.
Ok, so here I probably am going to loose all the purists
and novices, he is a wind sucker and as a result wears a
collar. He is prone to light colic if his diet is in any way
mismanaged. In the six years we have had him, we went
through a spell a year ago where he had colic once a
month, which, was always spasmodic in nature and after
self treatment went away after hours. We subsequently
found out it was sand colic and not related at all to his
sucking. He has not had a recurrence in almost a year.
Look past this and you have a horse that will give you
obedience and performance like none other.
Conformation
I am not going to give you a whole lecture, other than to
say, you will be hard pressed to find better (specially at
this price) He does show a slight dish. He has impeccable
stable manners and is very well de sensitized. He does
put up slight resistance initially when boxing, but settles
after a few minutes.
Cost: R20 000,00 neg.
2) Zorro
Height: 15.2hh (still growing)
Age: turned 4 in December
Gender: Gelding
Breed: Nooitgedacht cross
Colour: classified grey, but as you can see quite an
unusual colour.
Zorro has been with me for about 5 months now. He has a
wonderful temprament, but is still a baby. I have started
backing him and he has shown no resistance. He can get
sprited especially when in strange surroundings, I have not
completed his training. We have started teaching him to
box as the previous owner did not spend time on this.
I will only sell him if the new buyer is capable of handling a
youngster or if you have someone to complete his training.
Cost: R10 000 neg.
3) Talita
Breed: Warmblood X Friesian
Height: 15.3hh (still growing)
Age: 4
Colour: dark bay - will probably turn black.
I bought Talita in Rustenburg when she was a two year
old, both her parents are over 17hh, I am 2m tall so that’s
why we traveled so far.
She has the most incredible nature, nothing phases her, in
fact, I think she thinks she is a dog. I have backed her and
started basic schooling and she is safe to go on outrides,
but she still has a lot of learning to do.No problems with
boxing or farrier.
She is very big boned and will definitely be a weight
carrier, both breeds mature very late so I do expect her to
grow for at least another 3 years. She has grown more
than a hand in one year.
Conformation
She has an ear injury from when she was a foal, her ear
apparently hooked in a branch and as a result the
cartilage broke, the ear does not stand completely upright.
The only discipline that she will not be able to do as a
result of this is showing, and with her long mane it is
hardly noticeable. Look at it this way, if not for the ear she
would be out of most people’s price range due to her
breeding!
Cost: R15 000 neg.
