Barefoot Cherokee Classic size 2 treeless saddle for sale
This is a good saddle and very comfortable, but in the end did not suit my horse. I imported it from the USA in October 2010, so it is less than 1 year old. It is the new Cherokee (which came out in 2010) which has a v-rigging girth system and adjustable stirrup position. It is the plain black version (no horse-head logo). I attach two photos of the saddle.
I am asking R9,500 for the following entire package (at new 2010 prices in SA, this would have cost in the region of R14,000 - probably more in 2011):
1. Cherokee Classic (called Tahoe on some websites - USA) saddle, size 2. The best website to read up on this saddle is: www.barefoot-saddle.de/shop/en/Saddle-systems/Cherokee/Barefoot-Cherokee-Classic.html (note: I highly recommend the Size 2 even to those who fit in the Size 1 according to the Barefoot measuring charts).
2. Grandeur Future Saddle Pad, sized for Cherokee, Black. This pad has velcro pockets so that you can change the foam inside the pad. I have various foams that I experimented with and am willing to give the purchaser these shaped pieces in addition to the open-cell foam that came with the pad. The pad is machine-washable if you remove the foam.
3. Showman Stainless Steel Peacock Safety Stirrups. It is essential to have safety stirrups with your Barefoot saddle, as the stirrup leather attachment on the saddle is a closed attachment.
4. English Stirrup Leathers, Black. These come with sleeves so that you can comfortably have the buckles at the stirrup.
5. Nunn Finer 'Pirouette' Short Leather Girth, 24inch. Elasticated both ends. I am also willing to give the purchaser 3x home-made girth covers made from synthetic soft furry material. Note that the barefoot girth billets and the saddle flap are fairly long, so one needs a shortish dressage-length girth. The 24inch suited my horse, who is 15.2hh.
6. Soft Inlay For Sensitive Horses. In addition to the solid pommel insert that comes with the saddle, I am selling the soft insert that I bought.
Please email Carol on poole.carol@gmail.com or call on 073 148 7773 for more information or to make arrangements to try the saddle. Any courier costs would be for the buyer's expense.
