Posting on behalf of a friend, who is trying to help her boss rehome a polo pony. I received this mail today (names have been removed). "So the story as I know it is: Hero is a 14 year old polo pony, stands about 14 hands high. He has a neurological problem where when galloping and needing to turn, his leg gives way and he falls so he can no longer be used for polo or anything strenuous really. Apparently he is fine at walk or slow trot so "F" thought to give him to riding school for disabled -where they don't go faster than a walk- but they have no space for more horses at moment. Being a polo pony he has a lovely nature and doesn't spook easily and is fine around people and tons of other horses. "F" doesn't have money to keep a horse that he isn't riding. Though he has asked around with people where his 2 horses were stabled (not sure where that is) so far no one can take Hero and the apparent option is euthanasia, which makes me very sad for the horse I just thought I'd take the chance that maybe you might know someone who might be able to help or want to take him in?" Anyone know someone who can help?
