Hi all,
The SO is looking for a GP saddle.
There are two must haves: 1 - Must be 18" saddle. 2 - Must be adjustable.
I'd like opinions on which saddles are better suited to men [not too high a pommel], as well as which GP saddles are better suited to eventing.
Thanks peeps :-)

i have been watching this thread hoping someone would reply, 'cos i am also looking for exactly that. it's is very hard to find, and second hand is virtually impossible. western shoppe have a pessoa (i think?) that has an adjustable gullet that comes in 18", but it costs in the region of R20k

Well let's disregard the price and make completely. I would still be interested to hear which saddles suit men better. Are there no male riders on this forum who can give an opinion on this, please?

ALL saddles are better suited to men...The base design of a normal saddle was made with men in mind. I remember a few years back, someone came out with a saddle that was specifically designed for women.
But if you are merely looking for something with a low pommel, possibly trail saddles are a good option.

I have a RD Stuttgart - amazing saddle and so comfortable! Definitely worth trying!

Pity it needs to be adjustable as I know of a Trainer (old type) that was for sale through Western Shoppe. Have you looked at the Tekna saddles WS stock? I've heard they are quite nice and adjustable.

I've heard they are quite nice and adjustable. The A6 does actually look quite nice. We were there last night and were pleasantly impressed. I've always thought "you get what you pay for" but the Tekna was much nicer than I expected.
