We're moving to a smallholding in Skeerpoort in January next year and will have two cottages available for rent. The property is in close proximity to Pecanwood Estate - other landmarks include Van Gaalen's Cheese, Tangaroa Strawberry Farm and Bill Harrop's Balloon Safaris (all within 5kms). The commute to Randburg is approximately 70kms (but petrol's coming down!).
Both cottages are bright, airy and clean, with lovely views of the paddocks. One is a spacious two bedroom, for R5000 per month (including W&L and livery, excluding vet/farrier), the other is a generously-sized one-bed flatlet for R3000 per month (including W&L and livery, excluding vet/farrier). Both will be available from 1 January, subject to one month key deposit plus a month rent in advance. Pets negotiable (we'd prefer to avoid a pack of pitbulls).
Grazing is abundant with plenty of room to roam, and we have a caring, knowledgeable groom. Horses will be fed three meals a day, along with ad lib grass - no levies. You'll need to feed yourself, however!
We are in the process of completing barn-style stables along with a standard-sized dressage arena. A jumping arena is in the pipeline. There is also outride access to a neighbouring 2000 hectare game farm. Own instructor welcome (if you have one who'll make the trip), although we ride with Lynn Bremner and are arranging for her to make regular visits.
This is not a commercial yard - we're simply hoping to attract a couple of horsey people to share our private facilities. However, competition is not frowned upon and we'll probably be making occasional big treks to THS if anyone wants to tag along.
