Journey, I know Tanya Kyle phoned today to see what was happening there. So if you still have her contact, try giving her a call to find out.

Ingrid Malan from Western Province won dressage champs on Adriaan van Wyk and also won the kur. Megan Coleman from province was tie first in Equitation Champs. Kylie Petit on Aliwal Road from province was 5th in the big show jumping champs. That class was won by Cara Frew and Anais from gauteng.Kylie was also placed 3rd and 4th in eventing champs. Gauteng really did clean up in the team events,i think the only thing they didnt win was the showing,i think Eastern Cape won it. Province's 1m team was placed 1st and the 1.20m team placed 2nd(i was in this team and it was so much fun!).Big team was placed last, they really did try though. Equitation team was also last(i was in this team).I find it rather silly that this competition was right at the end of the show.all the horses were so tired and everyone in our team had a pole down, which means -6 each riders score for one pole.I had -12 in my test as Leapy did a flying change in the counter canter. We all learn the hard way,i chose a really stupid line. i wasnt placed in the equitation individuals but still came out with the biggest smile ever.i wasnt there to win it or even get placed.I went in there wanting to be calm and relaxed and get at least a 16 out of 20 and i got three 17's!So exstatic! And Leapy was such a star,he isnt my equitation horse but i didnt have a choice,he was so calm and obediant. I was placed 15th in the JB championships being the fastest 4-faulter.I didnt know i had the pole down and it just rolled off..i didnt bother listening to the announcer coz i thought i went clear.I was absolutely devastated when my dad said "pity about that pole" 5 minutes later. But he was a little super star.He was so good to me the whole show and just tried so hard. I ended up jumping my sisters horse too in the 1.20m classes as she had a little accident the sunday before the show. He's been going through a rough patch so thought it would be good for a stronger, more demanding rider to get on him.He was fantastic in the first class,he had one pole down and stopped in the middle of the combination but was my fault.I got a horrible stride coming in and he tried fitting two strides in the middle but cantered into the second element.I've never felt him give such huge jumps! Second class we were eliminated.he just had no power after the first class and i should rather have scratched BUT HE JUMPED THE WATER!We're actually going to maybe get a vet and find out why he loses power so quickly.Third and last class was awesome, had two down but no stops which was the aim.i didnt competer him in the last class as i wanted to leave him on a good note. Horses are tired after the long journey home but have a nice two week holiday now So glad to be home

Well done to all the juniors. It was extremely hot over the week of SA champs and I think the horses felt the heat a bit towards the end.
