A closed stable, barn style. 2 Rows on each side with a A-Frame roof over the middle..... What height will you dare to go min, ideally and max? For ponies up to 14hh and horses like TB's.

Actually minimum recommended height for a stable roof is in the region of 3m, this allows for adequate ventilation and ensures that rearing horses are unlikely to hit anything. In a barn style stable this clearance becomes even more important. Have tons of books on stable design, so if you have anymore questions I'll look up an answer for you!

My Building Construction and Graphic Standards book (am studying Architectural Draughting) says that the height from the floor to base of the roof should be 2800. But this is just a standard size they give so I would think any thing above 2800.

Ideally the roof (at the lowest part from the run off) should be 3m high. (according the the BHS stable management book)

Thanks alot guys. We made the roof 3.2m at the lowest part and it is 5.5m in the centre. I'll post a few pics later today of what we did.
