The Cape Town leg of The World Cup showjumping show WILL be going ahead. The dates will be 20 -23 November 2008. Judy Louw, who has recently returned from a trip to Belguim, has established some very positive contacts for SA riders in the future. Judy along with show secretary Larissa Williams have decided that it is very important for Showjumping in the Western Cape that this show does happen and have therefore agreed to take on the huge task and make it happen. The show will be held at Glenellen farm in Hout bay and as many of you know, this is the best grass jumping arena in the Western Cape as well as having a great atmosphere and is known for its professional and well organised shows. Our course designer for this show will be Lucien Somers from Belguim, who is also the Chairman of showjumping in Belguim and a regular Team manager for the Belguim team. He will be doing a talk on the Thursday evening for course designers and any other interested people. We ask all members of the equestrian community to please support us in any way possible, buy entering the show, coming along as a spectator or helping with sponsorship and donating of prizes etc. If you would like more info or would like to learn more about our sponsorship opportunities, please contact Larissa Williams 082 471 7249 or Judy Louw 082 449 1458

Perhaps the floats and trucks will park on the far side of the arena - the beach side... on the grass? I have been to a few big shows there years ago and they used to open that area up for big boxes and floats. As for the Warm up... No idea!?

Thereare two arenas that are privatly owned in the glenellen area. The one belongs to Tanglewood. Im sure they will be renting those arena's for warm up.

Apparently the trucks are going to be parking in the grass area where they normally let boxes park,on the far side of the showjumping arena, through that gate.theyre gonna open it from the other side though so the trucks can drive through the outride area from that road.Sorry im not familiar with hout bay area so dont know the roads etc.

i think the PE WCQ was R400-500 for the 3 classes that were available to the lower grades.I need all the mileage i can get before champs so i will most likely be doing it.
