Stabling around Cape Town *wanted*

What we need: 1stly - A friendly yard with not too many snooty clients where we can feel at home

Group paddocks
Feed and grass and shavings
Big-ish stables
Hands on groom and owners
Arena for lungeing and dressage

And need it to pref not be more than R2000 pm.

Does not really matter ec, I just need to find some that will be worth looking at...

then you should look in the northern suburbs because in the southern suburbs, you wont get all that for under R2000pm and if you are prepared to pay over, then you wont easily get the grass paddocks and all the facilities

Duncan Webster has the Cape Indoor Arena in Joostenbergvlakte, Stace may have his number. He has lunge arena's, an indoor arena, a jumping arena, not sure on the bedding or size of stables or how he has done his paddocks, but he does have grazing and sand paddocks.

The Shire in Joostenbergvlakte, lovely stables with good bedding, group and individual paddocks I think, dressage arena. Stace has their number, so does Salinero.

I keep my horses at Whispering Sanz, so does Chants and Fx5. The horses live out in herds, with 24/7 grazing. Brilliant management, horses are very well looked after. We have lunge all types of arenas and beautiful outrides. We are just after Joostenbergvlakte.

Kriekbult in also in Joostenbergvlakte, chat to hellsbells, they have huge grass paddocks, all arenas.

There are places in Phillipi like Cheval that charges R2400 per month. Nice stables grass/sand paddocks big arenas

In the SS you wont find anything for under R3000, definatly looking in the nothern subs

magic last i saw cheval vapeur in phillipi does not have grass paddocks - lamb mohr has lovely big grass paddocks though and definitely something i would look at.

With the interest rates today, the cost of fuel and food, you'd be hard pressed to find a good yard with facilities that is worthwhile and trustworthy for under R2000. You might find private places who are cheaper, but they are hard to find and even more difficult to get into.

I can really recommend The Shire though. They offer large, grassed group paddocks, big stables with thick bedding, excellent grooms, dressage, lunge and jumping arenas, track on the farm, etc. And no snooty clients.

This is next door to me at Gordons Bay, use our arenas at Firlands, have Indoor arena and organise information and DVD evenings as well as courses with top instructors etc all the time.
Sandy has recently started out as a livery centre, having had horses of her own for many years and is very keen to grow and improve the standard in the area on all fronts.
