Hi All Riders
Jorge Pereira is a Portuguese Classical Dressage instructor, Competitive Rider and National Judge.
Jorge was formally trained in Portugal and was a pupil of Nuno Oliviera for 8 years. His current instructor is the world-famous Kyra Kyrkland. He is also currently competing on the International Sunshine circuit where he finished in 5th position last year. He teaches successfully in Germany, Holland, America, England and of course Portugal.
Jorge owns his own established yard just outside Lisbon, where devout pupils from all over the globe (8 currently from South Africa) travel to and stay for a few days for lessons on his highly trained Lusitano schoolmasters.
Jorge has now been coming to South Africa to teach for 6 years. Every 4 months I host Jorge for 3 days at my yard in Glen-Austin Midrand, after which he travels to teach in Natal at Cathy Kirkpatrick. He then travels back to Johannesburg to my yard to teach for a further 3 days.
Jorge is humble enough to teach from Novice to Grand Prix, the only criteria being enthusiasm. Some of Jorge’s SA pupils who have been with us from the start are Andrea Harrison, Uta Malzach, Claudia Privato, Cathy Kirkpatrick and Peter and Elizabeth Muller.
The general feedback from the riders is that whilst Jorge is a classical instructor, he is extremely current and seems to have endless different methods for both horse and rider to get whatever is required. Jorge also instructs many show jumpers and eventers so as to improve their flatwork and in fact instructs the Portuguese National show jumping team on a regular basis.
The cost:-
Johannesburg – R750.00 per lesson
Natal – R800.00 per lesson
Jorge’s next tour in South Africa will be in Johannesburg from 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th April and the 23rd, 24th and 25th of April 2008.
He will be teaching in Hillcrest, Natal on the 20th, 21st and 22nd of April 2008.
How it Works
Contact Lesley on anevent@wbs.co.za for Johannesburg lessons as soon as possible and provisionally book your lessons. You will then receive an invoice confirming your riding times as well as the amount due for payment. Only after payment has been received will your lessons be confirmed.
Jorge’s clinics have been booked to capacity on every clinic in South Africa, so book quickly to avoid disappointment. All riders and their friends/ family are welcome, free of charge, to watch as many of the lessons throughout the clinic as they would like to.
