Hi all, For anyone interested in Mary Wanless's Ride With Your Mind methodology, one of her accredited instructors, Suzanne Marshall, is coming to South Africa with the Kelly Marks tour and will be offering 2-day ridden clinics in both Johannesburg and Cape Town. Dates for the Johannesburg clinic are:- Friday, 30 November Saturday, 1 December Dates for the Cape Town clinic are:- Monday, 3 December Tuesday, 4 December Fees are R500 per day. I have posted some information about Suzanne on www.intelligenthorsemanship.co.za. Places are limited to 8 pairs of horses and riders, so please let me know a.s.a.p. if you would like to book a place. |

Hi Painted, Sorry for the slow response ! Karen Portman is definitely the main point of contact for RWYM and we did liaise very closely with her in organising Suzanne's clinics and she was very supportive. In fact, all the Jo'burg clinics were held on Karen's property While Suzanne is a RWYM instructor, she is also an Intelligent Horsemanship Recommended Associate and she likes to combine principles from both methodologies in her work. Offering her clinics alongside Kelly's demos seemed a good way to introduce her to South Africa as it's really hard to get anyone properly qualified to teach these methods out here. While the main objective of this trip was for Suzanne to support Kelly and teach Intelligent Horsemanship principles during her groundwork days, there is no RWYM representation in the Cape, so it was a good opportunity to spread the word, so to speak. Both Kelly and Suzanne had a great time in South Africa and there has been a really positive response so far, so I will start pestering them both in earnest about a return tour! |
