A friend of mine has just moved to durban and is really keen to start riding again.
We used to ride together as kids/teenagers and at the time she was a very capable rider for her age and comfortably handled her harry hotspur horse
It has been quite a few years since she last rode though and doesn't feel confident to carry on riding without having some decent riding lessons again.
Can anyone recommend either a good riding school - one where the horses are well looked after and not overworked or a private instructor that has his or her own horse that she can have lessons on? Not sure what area specifically is close to her, so all options would be great

I have a horse in Durban I may be interested in 1/2 or 1/4 leasing out. There is a lady at our yard that would be able to teach. Alternatively they have two TBs, recently off the track, that are being reschooled. Both are very sweet and if your friend is willing and capable I'm sure she could ride one of those.
I ride at Newmarket stables, in Durban central. If your friend lives more in the suburbs, I would recommend Summerveld/Shongweni.
Sure I can help your friend!
