Im not quite sure what answers you are trying to get Cin but here's mine the way i understand it:
I stable in the Northern Suburbs in Joostenbergvlakte at a yard called Kriekbult .... but as soon as we find a house then i will be keeping Bon on our property in the Southern Suburbs.

On a nature reserve (where I live too), near Yzerfontein. Great outrides but no schooling arenas which is a drag.

At Susan Turner's yard near Franschoek - brilliant jumping and dressage facilities and horses are well looked after... a bit of a drive from Stell though

Thanks guys.... There is a VERY slight possibility that I might be moving to the Western Cape early this year (no decisions have been made, yet). Hubby has been offered a GREAT job which is a great opportunity for us both, cause we both LOVE the Western Cape. So, I am just looking at my options… we might be buying a home in the Stellenbosch area. That is not a certainty either – so I don’t know yet where we will stay IF we do move down. It also depends on whether I will get a transfer within my company that I work for or if I should look for another job... Everything is till very uncertain at this stage and I really hope that it will happen.
Sunny, is there no stabling yards in Stellenbosch and surroundings?

Oooooo how exciting Cin! There are mostly private yards in Stellenbosch but i think the most competitive would be Spier!

About 27 Km from my house which is in De Zalze - just outside Stb nearer to Somerset West - it takes me half hour to get there from home. So is quite a way out...

If you are looking for a non-competitive "natural yard" Whispering Sanz is about 15km from Stellenbosch. We have 100ha and a lovely dam and the horses live out 24/7 with acess to shelter unless they are foaling or sick. The owner can see every part of the farm from her home and the horse are brought in twice a day for checking and supplements. We have 2 round pens and an arena and almost limitless outrides as all the neighbouring farms have given permission for us to ride there. The horse live in a big herd so learn horsey manners. At night, they are brought into camps close to the house for safety. It is a little piece of heaven and I am so grateful for it. Obviously if you are a keen competititor, nothing is stopping you.
