I went to VRA with a friend to look at a horse. Wow they are doing so much to the place. More stables, paddocks and fantastic jumps. Might be worth a look

It is lovely, but unfortunately neither Bee nor I can go to Philippi. For anyone else looking, there is also a lovely yard just around the corner from VRA where they have the Jonathan Clarke clinics.

It is sad, Bee and I have been looking for something together, we have driven nearly all over and nothing, but am sure something will crop up!!

Gypsy I know the feeling, we have super places here at Firlands and vacancies just next door to my place - but just too far for Cape Town!

The yard in Phillipi is called Cheval Vapeur and it is really lovely, with stunning jumping arena and really nice people- very safe indeed- and just terrific! well run with commited people and you can ride in Golden Circle property which is adjacent-When we were looking that was one of our best choices! VRA also has a lot to offer and as someone mentioned- there are lots of opportunities for the competitive rider or the happy hacker- We have recently changed yards- although we loved Epona and we have had such a happy two and half years there- simply for financial reasons- we needed to come up with a more sustainable option on our budget- and we have been so blessed to secure two stables at Waterloo Bridge. Also the most wonderful people, and they have made what could have been a sad move into a lovely experience. the horses look great and seem so happy and there is a good management structure.
