I pay between 1500 and 2000. I think it is a fair price, it is in Stellenbosch, close to my house, with stunning outrides and Pokkels is stabled at night.

I pay R1650, and then still need to pay farrier and vet. I think it's fair - we get 6kg feed and are stabled at night. Not super facilities, but we are situated in the middle of Durban! We can box to ride on the beach, but our yard gives city people the opportunity to keep their horses close by, and we can therefore see them more often. The next closest yards are about 30min drive and traffic can be a killer. A bit contoversial, but I prefer my horse being 10min from me. Else I'd probably only see him 2x a week or so.

I'm currently at a yard where I pay in the region of R1800 (officially R1722, but grass levy and carrots etc push the price up) and I'm about to move to a yard where I'll be paying R1650. Both seem more than fair to me - a hundred rand here or there isn't a big deal. I'd be nervous at a yard that charged much less because I insist on round, shiny, happy horses and I know that costs money. 24 hour supervision is priceless.

Brigette I agree,we run a small livery And I know how much everything costs,Worse Cost is the roughage! We charge R1600,we only have a lunge ring, and A dodge arena,But once we have Proper facilities and everything is perfect it will go up. Our horses have oathay The entire day,3 meals a day.24 hour sepervision,I even do a check at 10pm. They are groomed properly every second day,And brushed everyday. They are blanketed correctly,Have good fresh bedding etc. We now have a waiting list!lol

I charge R1200 at present(for feed and stabling), along the west coast, but will be putting it up to R1400 shortly which will include all feed, farrier fees, inoculations and deworming and more grazing than they can eat live out with access to a stable.

Pay R3300 per month for an excellently well run stable with 24 hr supervision. The stable is big and airy, and spotless. The paddock is sand, but nice and shaded and safe, with electric fencing. We have a lungeing arena on the property, are next to shared arenas, and have access to very nice outrides.
It is in the notorious Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, where one can expect to pay anything up to R5000 per month. Land is expensive.

I pay R350..It's because there's no stables, but the horses luv living outside and playing in the rain! The price only inc. feed (Equifeed), grazing and the farrier that comes every 8 weeks (the horses lives barefoot, so doesn't cost that much)!
I really think its cheap..Its in Gansbaai!!
