I wish I was one of those people who can afford those prices.

I pay R1400 p/m and I think it is not little for what I get.
It isn't a proper livery yard as it is only my mare and owner's two horses, so the set up is a bit different. I groom my horse and she is fed, taken out and brought in, blanketed etc. by the groom or yard owner.
Horses have nice grazing during the day and are stabled (quite small) at night with dry grass, that we cat ourselves and some lucerne in hay nets. I buy my own concentrates
As far as facilities are concern there is not much. I have a nice dressage arena and a very hectic outrides, where horse needs to be quite fit to survive it, as it is VERY up and down. Another thing I wish we had is a tack room, as my saddle bakes in the car during the day, on the days I ride.
The price increases roughly every 12-18 months.
Oh, and I am in Plett.

I cannot even belive what the yards around here charge. There is a ramshackle yard in the area that you basically have to care for the horse yourself. Feed is provided but not great quality so most liveries buy their own. They charge R2800.

I have my own yard in Constantia. Horses can live in or out, we have two small sand paddocks and one big grass field that the horses go into during the day. We have a tack room large airy stables and i look after the horses myself so they have 24/7 supervision. We have a big grass field 2 minutes walk away that i have put jumps into (nice BIG flat field) stunning outrides close by and public dressage arena's 5 minutes away. All in all an awesome area to be in but not for the prices other yards charge. There is a live out livery in Tokai asking i think R4500 per month.... CRAZY.

Thanks guys! Really interesting to find to find out prices in the different areas. Always knew livery was expensive in Tokai/Constantia area but wow 4500 for places that don't even have their own facilities is a shocker!
