Look on the SANEF site. All the details are up there. I had more luck contacting and getting info from Kate Hurst than I did from Di Peterson. I've applied; am waiting for the curriculum booklet to arrive in the post. One cost not mentioned on the site is for the curriculum booklet and seminar dates and whatnot: it's R150. Plus youu will also need the recommended reading books (they'll tell you what they are) which you can order from Horse Books Unlimited. Also, you'll need a First Aid certificate for the later modules.

I have done up to module 2. Go to Kate Hurst, she is the best. Unfortunately I had a very bad experience with one of the other's where she still owes my parents R15 000. If you would like to know who that was you are more than welcome to pm me.

Kate Hurst and Hillary Pelser are the BEST people to go to. Hillary is in Villirsdorp and has the most incredible set up for horses and riders alike. You learn how to run a yard and get practical expiriance. I would not reccomend trying to do it by yourself as you will need to assistance, especially with the correct lunging techniques and terminology. I did up to module 3. it is brilliant knowledge to have, some useless but most i have put to good use.

Thanks so much guys!
I have emailed Kate, I will give her a ring tomorrow!
Michele- I have had a look, and everything seems to be in order. When did you apply?
Rhythm- I unfortunately have no other choice to do it by myself, because I am going to start studying Law soon, and am looking for a job.. I just thought the SANEF will open up a few more doors for me in the horse industry (as I am so young, people don't really want to hire me, so I have to get as much behind my name as possible).
Jane- It is ok. I will work through Kate, thanks anyway! I hope your parents get all of their money back! Very sad to hear about this terrible thing happening to you guys...

Nins Sanef takes very long and its pretty hectic, the basics will annoy you ( You pay to learn how to tack up and groom) and its very very expensive!!

Nins, I actually did mine via email. I originally spoke to kate in December last year, then had a bit of a hectic streak in my life. I emailed her again 2 weeks ago with my address so she can send the booklet. She hasn't replied via email yet though to the most recent one I sent. I don't think she checks her emails very often.
Whereabouts would you be based in CT?

Nope. I'm gonna email again and call next week. Like I said: emails don't get checked often. And because Kate is so involved with horse sports, she's difficult to tie down.

Your best bet is to go to Kate Hurst and personally get the booklet from her! That's what I did. And she's really not that far.

I know way-back-when, when I contacted Kate, she was stabling at Elsenburg or working there or someting. Dunno if she's still there though.
