Hi Western Cape Peeps!
I just spoke to Di Arnold from SDRC and there is Express Eventing planned for the 24th September- public holiday. This is the MOST fun- its a low level (generally) cross country and show jumping without the dressage- its a really good way to introduce your horses to cross country! The atmosphere is fun and frenetic- check out the SDRC website- the schedule should be posted later today!
Also, Inge Hansen having a cross country clinic today and Friday- so anyone who would like her contact details- just pm me!

Just sent my entries in!! I'm doing the 60cm Introduction class. SJ is a tad small for us but didn't want to overface the Beastie as it is our first "proper" cross country course.

Well!!!! We did it! Harry and I went clear in the show jumping AND the cross country!!! (60cm)- We DID jump an extra jump (# 2 in the 40cm cause i walked the course incorrectly!) so we got some time penalties (cause i had to circle round to get my actual number 2 jump LOL)- but it was sooooooooooooooooo much fun and so well organised AGAIN! He did not even look at the water in the splash or the dyke- has never seen an actual brush jump before and had his ears pricked forward the whole time- even loves jumping down banks and steps. OC had a great first outing and her boy jumped the show jumping soooo well and was brave in the country! Not sure who else was there? Highly recommend Inge Hansen's clinics to anyone starting out- and express eventing as an entry to the sport. I will be confident next year in welcome eventing now that I have had these experiences! Thanks SDRC and all the organisers and my coach Sarah G!
