The Hunter Trials, which were to be held on Sunday 6 September, have been postponed until mid October – date to be announced later.
Due to the bad weather conditions forecast for next week which will lead to bad going on the course, it has been decided to postpone the Hunter Trials – we think it will be “more fun in the sun” in October
All entries will be carried over.
Regards
Sanneke

THE CAPE HUNT & POLO CLUB HUNTER TRIALS / CROSS COUNTRY Sunday 1 November at 10.00 a.m. Rondeberg Farm, Equestrian Valley These will now be held on 1 November when we hope to have lovely weather and know that the going will be excellent across the lovely cross-country courses very kindly funded by The Old Mutual Private Wealth Management. This is now the 3rd time this event is being held here, again over 3 separate courses and with excellent going (not thick sand). The Hunter Trials are open to everyone - hunters and non-hunters, children and adults – all are welcome. The only class that has a restricted entry is the Qualified Hunters Class as this is only open to Bona Fide hunters who have completed a minimum of 6 hunts at 3 different venues during the season (or are accepted as genuine hunters at the discretion of the Hunt Master), and riding a horse that similarly has completed 6 hunts, but not necessarily together. The course will be open for inspection from 12.00 Noon on Friday 30 October. Course maps will be available from our own Hunt website or CHPC website (see below) and detailed maps will also be up for viewing on the cottage stoep. Entries close on Monday 26 October. Late entries, and entries on the day, will be R60.00 extra per entry and all entries sent without payment, or proof of payment, will be treated as a late entry on the day. To avoid paying a heavy penalty please ensure we get your entries timeously, it would be much appreciated There will be catering provided on the day See you there Sanneke Websites Hunt Section: www.capehunt.co.zaCape Hunt & Polo Club: www.capehuntpoloclub.co.za

Is the course similar to a x-country course or is it more like a Hunt course with just a few jumps?

More like a x-country course and think you have to open and close a gate as well.

It really is great fun, except for the the gate part - horses see jumps in distance, and find that whole standing thing rather boring!!! Hoping to squeeze it in amongst exams!!
