Thanks TP- I will pass on your message to her! I did not see WS and Laddles or Mac- how did it go everyone??? Sara was 8th after dressage in Junior welcome; then 6th after showjumping- then had a wonderful round in the country with the fastest time- the only problem is that she did not make the turn at number 12 in time, so rode past it and circled back - so got penalties - next time she will look for a landmark to warn her of the turn cause it comes after a lovely gallop track- so it was back to 8th- had she made the turn, it would have been third! Nevertheless, Sara has not stopped smiling since riding the x country, and it certainly looked like Skwiff enjoyed himself immensely!!!!!
Congrats to White Winter and her owner- the came 1st i think. There were some lovely lovely horses, some bold riding- it was so great to watch!
I also have to say that I have never seen such slick organization despite the weather- and even the weather was not as bad as it could have been! such a wonderful and commited group of volunteers to the sport- I have just come back from Ocala Florida where the USA Event team practices, and the course at SDRC has really developed in the last year to be of a very high standard- I would have loved to have seen someone jump the keyhole!
What makes me love eventing is watching the oh-so-correct and beautifully turned out dressageriders with top hats at the higher levels turn into these brightly coloured hooligans riding hell bent for leather in the country, whoopingit up- its so fun to see the transformation!!!! wet weather makes the transformation even more dramatic! cannot wait to be one of them with Harry!
