we r planning on moving to dubai, but there is no way im going without my horse.. any1 had experience with air travel? where do they go? whats the quarantine? sorry if i posted in the wrong place.

Archie, the costs of moving a horse overseas are HUGE. They have to go into quarantine at the kenilworth Quarantine station where they stay for 6 months (i stand to be corrected) during this time if there are any AHS outbreak/flu/strangles in the area the state vet generally puts a movement ban not only on horses in the area but the export of horses too. I would call Millan Du Toit. He reularly flies with the horses that are imported and exported and can give you the inn's and outs of it.
Personally i wouldnt want ot put my horse through it. Not only is the climate incredibly different, its not only the transport side of things you have to worry about, its if your horse will be able to cope with the climate in Dubai, stabling in Dubai etc etc etc....
