Hey everyone!
I'm in desperate need of a blanket small enough for a new born arab foal!! the foal is due in July and it's extreemly cold in the Free State in our region with temperatures of -12 at night. I'm afraid that the stable wont be enough protection against the cold especially not for a new born and arabs have such thin skin.
Where can I get one and how much does it cost?

Ginger the other thing I have heard of people doing is taking an adults jersey and putting it on the foal like a jersey- covers their front legs too - never done this before but I heard it works like a bomb

Ginger, why not go and get a great dane dog blanket, they make them just like horse blankets, and it should be small/big enough for a new born foal.....

Bevel - have done this with Judy's first born, it was cold as hell... thing is you can't turn him out with it, it's fine for the night as an emergency blanket but not for everyday use.
Also thought of doing that TLC - where can I get one though? any good pet shop?

thanx everyone!! Also thought of doing that TLC - where can I get one though? any good pet shop?!! in JHB, riders had one for like R 250.00 and i think Equifox also stocks dog blankets, but not sure on your side where you would get one from... maybe just phone around and ask? |
