TTouch Series on Television – "Talking to Animals" starring Sarah Fisher
Watch DSTV Channel 261 Nat Geo WILD
Sarah Fisher is a Tellington TTouch Instuructor in the UK, the author of several Horse and Dog books and runs the Tellington TTouch office in the UK.
Her TV Program called “Talking to Animals” is truly brilliant and shows what TTouch can do in so many situations. It’s also great fun!
NOW showing on channel 261 (DSTV) Nat Geo WILD
Times are 20:30 with repeats at 07:30 and 09:30. Although the series has already started there should be repeats to follow. Sarah has been out to SA and I have worked with her - she is FAB!!!

I saw her yesterday in the UK at a clinic and must admit that I found her a bit annoying.....
Not my cup of tea.

EvH can you be more specific about what exactly annoyed you? We really appreciate feedback - constructive too. You can PM me if you prefer.

i just didn't like the way she "presented" herself or TTouch. It was all a bit wishy-washy, airy-fairy to me. She kept on saying things such as - "like, ALL the animals I treat get better and, like, I don't know why..." Also, they brought in a mare and did a couple of things with her. The one thing I DID not like was when they pulled on her tail (no idea what she called it). I know that it can be very beneficial if done correctly, but that mare was not checked for any sacral dislocation at all beforehand (and I did ask). Have you got any idea the amount of damage that could have been done if there was any structural misalignments?? I know TTouch can be very beneficial, but certain things need to be looked at by someone qualified to pick up on potential problems beforehand (sacral dislocations are one of the most painful structural misalignments)

EvH, thanks for your forthright feedback. It is good to know. It is a pity that you didn't have a more positive experience. I think its hard for me to respond, not having been there, and I think that Sarah would be happy to answer questions or respond to your feedback if you wanted to get in touch with her. What I can say is that in TTouch, our intention is to remove pain or fear from the cells, and therefore adding to that is always against what we are trying to achieve - which is why the work is very gentle and revolves around doing small and subtle movements. I agree with you its best to get the horse checked out by the vet. We like to work in conjuction with the vet, farrier, chiro, physio, osteopath, dentist etc etc as we feel a holistic, team approach is most helpful for the horse. Its also disappointing that you found it wishy-washy, as the work is quite specific and there is a lot of research that has been done and is being done to verify why it works. I think progress is being made i.t.o the science around the nervous system and cells. Anyway, if you are interested, there are some good research results on the ttouch website at www.ttouch.com/researchStudies.shtmlWhen I have worked with Sarah I've found her to be very knowledgable, especially in her observation skills and also in the field of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). It is a pity that she wasn't able to convey that at the clinic. If you want to read more about her or get in touch with her, her website is www.tilleyfarm.co.uk - she has some very interesting info on there. Thank you again for the feedback, I hope I have provided more information and that perhaps your next exposure to TTouch is a more positive experience.

Very interesting Evh and Shayne - we do tend to miss things which are important sometimes. I must say I have found TTouch to work fantastically on my dogs, horses and humans 99% of the time, but like everything there are exceptions.
I am thoroughly enjoying the series on tv although I do think a lot of what we see is really just a small bit of 'scratching the surface' - obviously due to time contraints they cant show absolutely everything so we only get bits and pieces of her work on each case. She doesnt work miracles and sometimes she has put in an awful lot we dont see to achieve what we do see. That is the 'fault' I can find with the series (and many others) - it gives a 'false' view of things at times and seems as if a cure is achieved in minutes!
OOOps nearly forgot the whole point of my post - I find her TCM - Earth dog/horse and all the other elemental animal studies absolutely fascinating - well worth reading time and again (to be found on her website)

Thx Shayne. I have actually got one of the first books written by Linda Tellington-Jones (have had it for years). The other thing that really bothered me was when she said "We change the nervous system". When she was asked how and why her answer simply was, "because we do". Not a very good answer... Who knows, maybe she was just having a bit of a bad day? But anyway, I saw a lot more airy-fairy "therapies" at this fair/clinic.
